How to clean leather like a professional using great products such as HG and PROCHEM.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
When cleaning leather, it is important to always pre-test the cleaning solution on the leather in a discreet place to ensure no colour transfer occurs from the leather to the cloth. Do not proceed in cleaning the leather if you find there is a transfer.
Prochem offer a range of products for the professional to clean leather.
- Firstly, pre-test the leather for colour transfer.
- Use Prochem E672 Leather Cleaner and work the cleaner into the hide using circular motions.
- In areas of heavy soiling, it is worthwhile using a Tampico Brush to loosen soil.
- Prepare a solution of Prochem B109 Fibre and Fabric Rinse diluted at 50ml per litre of water, immerse a clean cotton towel in the solution, wring it out until damp and go over the area just cleaned to remove soil and cleaner.
- To finish off the clean it is important to condition the leather, replacing natural oils that are removed through cleaning. Begin by testing the product for any colour transfer.
- Spread the Prochem E675 Leather Conditioner evenly to the leather using a slightly damp white towel. A thing to remember is to use it sparingly - less is better.
- Leave the solution to dry for about 5 minutes then buff with a clean, dry white towel.
