It is time to get the barbecue out and enjoy some family time in the garden, but you've found that the barbecue is a bit worse for wear! Just because you haven’t used it in quite a while, doesn’t mean it can’t get dirty.
It is a dreaded thought: cleaning the barbecue. But now, thanks to CLICK CLEANING, it can be far easier than expected. There is a great range of specially formulated products to tackle grease and burnt on food, which can make it easier for you to maintain a healthy cooking environment.
The BBQ Cleaning process....
The first step is a no brainer, but it is essential: turn off the main gas supply before cleaning your barbecue. A great little tip is to burn off the grill and the inside of the barbecue for about 30 minutes the night before - ideal for cutting down a lot of the grease.
The easiest way to clean your grills on the bbq is to take them and place them in a high quality black refuse sack. Wearing the correct PPE, such heavy duty gloves and eye protection, like safety goggles then spray Selden Oven Cleaner on the grills while they are in the bag. Ensure you spray enough to cover all the grates. Once you've done this, tie and knot in the end of the black bag, then leave it overnight for the chemical to break down the baked or grease and fat.
The next day, wearing protective PPE, undo the refuse sacks and take each grate out one by one and rinse the oven cleaner off with hot water. This will probably remove 75% of the baked on debris. To remove the rest use either a galvanised scourer or 3M Griddle pads. These are excellent for getting rid of the tough burnt on debris.
It is important that once you've finish scrubbing clean your BBQ grates that you wash them properly with a washing up detergent to ensure it is 100% free of any chemical residue or particles that may have been left over from the scouring pads.
For the rest of BBQ use a heavy duty degreaser, such as Delphis Eco Heavy Duty degreaser or Ubik 2000.
Lastly, before you do another BBQ make sure you sanitise your entire BBQ, including the work surfaces, grates, handles and covering. Once sanitised and wiped down, ensure you fire up the BBQ for 10-15 minutes prior to cooking.
